Have you tried flushing out the system? Does your overflow dipstick have brown **** on it? Have you cleaned the actual outside fins out on the radiator? Mine had a sock in it when I boght the car.

Use the method outlined in this thread to flush your system. Theres more on page 2.

You need to fix it. That temperature sending unit (thing on the head that I suposse you broke) does a helluva-lot more than just tell YOU what the temperature is. If you've ever looked at a copy of HP tuners, you'd realize that just about every damn table in the PCM has the parameters setup adjusting for the temperature of the car at any given time.

You have a dummy guage, it's going to read that temp no matter what. If the car was running 185, it would still read the same on the guage.

My car is a head and cam car too. Yesterday it was 97 degrees in NY, my car was running for about an hour. It got up to 210 degrees, my mechanic told me that that was where you want the temp to be. He also sugested removing the plastic shroud in front of the radiator and hollowing out the nostrils to get more air.

I disagree, I have a 02 ws6, my friend has an 01 ws6, and his brother has an 01 ws6. I was the first to get the rain guards out of the nostrils as well as taking the honey combs out and replacing them with the brian green nose pieces....I DO NOT HAVE THE BRIAN GREENE KIT, JUST THE CORNER PIECES, however i have noticed a huge difference with throttle response as well as having our cars scanned and my air temp entering the car is on average over 10 deg. lower and my engine temp is substantially lower then both my friends and his brothers ws6. I strongly reccommend deleting the rain guards they serve no purpose. I have been in countless turential down pours and never had a problem highway driving or in town

but hey its jus my .02 so take it for what its worth

Get a 160* Tstat and everything should be cool. No pun intended. My fans come on at 180, and the second one at 190. I never get hot, so far, knock on wood.

AND I COMPLETLY AGREE WITH YOU ON THE PONT THat modding the intake path will lower iat temps but it will do virtually nothing to the temp of the coolant as the intake is not what so ever involved with the cooling system.. this was my point.. its kinda like saying lower your tire pressure or replace your brakes yea it may be a good idea depending on your situation but it has nothing to fo with engine temps

furthermore by cutting the radiator shroud you are actually redirecting air away from the radiator this will undoubtly increase coolant temps..

Default 98 Camaro SS, LS1, fans stopped working

anyone know what all could make the fans stop working? All fuses are good, relays are new...

Also, does anyone know how to bypass the 02 sensors?

Just buy a Auto Meter water temp gauge and be done with it. 99-02 gauges all read 210. Or just drive it, if it get hot for real, it will let you know.

The hot engine is better for more efficient combustion -- this is the reason they run hot, folks.

Motors failed?

O2 emulator or tune them out on the PCM...
