the 98-99 dont have the hole for the AIR tube but 00-02 does have it. and reason cold air kit isnt recommended for ws6 and SS is because they already have a bigger air box for ram air...i guess?

because sealing the intake to the hood may be a better option for ss/ws6 i would guess...

but idonthave the air tube so should i get the 00-02? i have the ls6 intake. i would think the under car cold air and the hood would be better. more air flow...pluse theres not much room for the air to flow from the hood espiecaly at lower speeds... i duno.

It will only be as cold as it is outside and ambient temperatures under the hood.

I cut the 2 rain deflectors in my WS6 hood and built a funnel out of aricraft aluminum that flows into the air box. Then i just picked up some weatherstripping and lined the opening in the hood that mates with the aribox for a tighter seal. so far,........ no issues, just better throtel response and I feel like she really picks up better at higher speeds.. just don't take of the honey comb grills,.....(lil security for ya).

im just saying the only air flow is from a little gap on the air box. i would think more air from a bigger hole woudl be better
