How is your oil drain setup?

What have you done to relieve crankcase pressure?

From what I understand if you have to use a restrictor with that turbo you have other problems

can anyone quickly explain the reason u would ever use a restrictor in the oil lines? y wouldnt u just the right size line to begin with? what happens when the turbo gets to much oil?

Youd need a restrictor becuase the LS1 has such high oil pressure and the turbo doesnt need that much oil pressure and thats why it will blow oil past the seals. Imports have this problem too. Jose also to me to use one. Im going to start at .060 and go from there.

maybe that is my problem
I am running a precision t 67 and a -10 return line that is around 4 inchs long with a PTS kit and it is getting oil into the intake side
but when I asked Jose this same ?? 6 or 8 months ago he said that it was only for the rear mount guys and I should be fine

WTF

Something I found...

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT -4AN FITTINGS AND LINES ON T3/T4 TURBOCHARGER INLETS

Please take note that in some cases (inlet oil pressures above 65 psi - like in import engines) the oil seal in the bearing cartridge may blow out and start leaking oil onto the back both the compressor and exhaust turbines. This is due to the higher flow characteristics of the 4AN (1/4" ID) line. The smaller -3AN line (3/16" ID) acts as a restrictor and helps regulate the oil pressure within the turbo bearing cartridge. Purchasing this -4AN flange indicates that you understand this risk and you are willing to deal with any associated problems.

Good find, I know there are people who run unrestricted setups but lots of them also have dry sumps or other things that will help suck oil out.

Sounds like its time for me to get 2 restrictors before throwing the new turbos back on my car.

I have a -4an feed, -10an return on the mocal. I had to run an .050 restriction (got it from function 7 on the net) built into the flange, which I liked, makes it look professional... I am still getting a little bit of oil in the charge though.

i use a 4an line for the feed, and 10an for the drain. no restrictor
works great no oil smoke.

when i tried one on my tti kit, it killed the turbo.
found out later it was the drain.
look on the drain first.

Well now I am doubting my oil feed line. I made a steel 3/16 feed line with a 90 degree 1/8 npt at each end. The 3/16 line is approximately 9/64 inside diameter. I was hoping this would feed just the right amount with a -10 AN return line. Maybe it won't be enough?
