Default Interior polishing...what do i use other than armor all?

Howdy! I have used armor all for my entire life on my parents cars and now mine but I have noticed that nowadays, it seems like there are several different types of interior plastic and vinyl polishes out there. I got i a friends truck who paid to have his detailed and it looked so much shinier and richer and lasted longer.

He couldn't tell me what they used and the place where he had it done didn't want to tell me, so i thought id see what yall have used thats better than ARMOR ALL and why do some call it Harmor All?

I prefer Meguiar's interior detailer. It won't saturate your interior with oil and will give you a clean, satin finish.

I dress with Zaino Z16 or Meguiar's Natural Shine, and I maintain weekly with Meguiar's Interior Quick Detailer.

ArmorAll is sometimes called Harmer All because over time, it tended to do more damage to interiors than good. Something in it reacted with too much sunlight and would dry out plastics on the interior, leading to cracking and such. Don't quote me on that, but it's basically what I'd read around the F-body forums before.

I've read about this too.....from what I've read, that was the case with the old formula of armor-all, and it has since been reformulated to not do that anymore. Still, I think armor-all is way too shiny and greasy.

I've used Meguiars natural finish protectant. It still shines a bit but not too bad.

I use Meguiar's interior wipes. It's safe for all surfaces, even electronics. Gives a nice shine, but not overly oily shine like armor-all.

Surprisingly enought the local car washes in So Cal here use Lexol leather protectant on interior plastics...

They say it protects better, doesn't dry the plastic out and isn't greasy... go figure

It has, however, managed to maintain it's overly cheesy look

I use Meguiar's Natural Shine as well. Nothing else I've seen beats it.

the problem with armor all is that it contains silicons. vinyl has small pores in it and cleaners and polishers that have silicons clog the pores and the vinyl traps moisture under it. over time the moisture damages the vinyl.

zanio makes a great product and does not damage vinyl.

hope this info helps you guys...

I detail cars and we use a waterbased vinyal dressing for all of the plastics. Its made by transmate. Works the ***** and doesnt leave the oily residue.

I am using Zaino and NXT's protectant, both are awesome.... NXT seems to last longer than the Zaino though.

I second that, my g/f cleaned my car one time to suprise me and I just wipe mine off. I prefered the none glossy look. She used a leather protectant, meguires I think. But it wasnt oily and looked really good to.
