Default Coolant leak after Head/Cam swap???

Did a Head and Cam swap and have a Coolant leak on the drivers side. Can't see anything obvious and the car runs fine. Before I pull the head back off and replace the gasket, any ideas what else I should check?

The drips are coming from the drivers side, it looks like its coming from somewhere closer to the front. I have checked the water pump/hoses, the xover tube on the front and don't see anything. So I am guessing it is coming from the side.

I've heard something about 98 heads being different than 99+ LS1 heads. From my understanding the standard MLS gaskets sold by GM may not seal correctly when used with <99 heads.

BTW, the difference is in the area by the #1/3 and 2/4 pistons.

I agree with the baove statements. I also had a leaking problem too after doing my h/c swap. It turned out to be that I didnt tighten one of the water pump bolts enough. Try going through the water pump bolts and hopefully your problem can be fixed. Good Luck!!!

are you sure it isn't leaking from 1 of the header bolts.i run into this problem.the heads were ported into the water jacket.no biggie.we put some thread sealer on the header bolts and solved the problem. car has many miles on it with no issues at all.mopars are famous for thisproblem
