Default True Duals or Y-Pipe??

I wanted some good input here. I have heard both ways. Get true duals, they flow more, they are better for when you mod it. Stick with a good high flow y-pipe and cat back. The f-bodies flow a little better with them because of the way the true duals have to be ran. I was wondering if true duals are an advantage and what I should decide to go with. I want to do full exhaust in the next week, no cats. What is best?

true duals, sounds better than any y-piped catback, I've had 3 catbacks before I saw and heard the light.

Ive been wondering why people get an ORY for $150-$200 with a catback for $400-$800. When TSP has TD's for $400. Could some one explaine this to me?

Not everyone wants the loud sound, not everyone wants to deal with possible clearance issues if they're lowered, not everyone wants to squeeze ever possible itty bitty horsepower out of their car.

Should I keep going?

i had GMMG.. yea i liked it, then woke up and got TD!! Much better IMHO.. you will love the sounds, plus it flows soo much better...

The only thing that you will have to worry about is X Vs. H

FYI:

H = Deep bassy, muscle car sound with low end TQ and HP

X = Exotic, Racy sound with TQ and HP starting at the Mid RPMs

just do your research first!

I've heard lots of true duals set ups at the track and haven't been very impressed with any of em. I prefer the way the y pipe/cutout combo screams.

no need for you to keep going. if you only want a real car sound some of the time cuz your weak and cant deal with the "noise" then get a cutout... but dont let people like this make it sound like td's vs a ory setup is only a itty bitty hp gain.....i have never had my car dyno'd but i have been to the track and rsd's and have run people that have the same mods as me z28 with intake and ory headers etc....i have intake and headers with an orx....he ran 13.1, i ran 12.7 spinning through 3rd on my stock eagles....hmmm doesnt sound like a itty bitty difference....i have also raced my friends c5 with full intake, and a tune and dr's and i pull him everytime and i will say he is a better driver then me....and its no contest i beat him everytime...nothin more then a lid and full ehxuast....if you want to go with a ory setup do it there good but if you have any plans for a big cam or a c.i. increase go with td's there the true support mod for going anywhere big
