Default Porting the mass air flow.

Has any one done this mod, I saw it on unniversity install site and at the bottom of the page it said that it gave all four of the cars some top end power and out of all the free mods that it made the biggest difference. I thought that was hard to belive because i thought for sure that the free ram air mod would.

Its said over and over again. Don't touch the MAF at all. Unless you are throwing down 550 or so RWHP there is no need to even think about getting a larger one.

I know everyone says not to get aftermarket ones but do you really think that cutting the foils off and descreening it will hurt the performance?

Only when ported properly and a proper retune on the computer will this work.

The only thing I did on my MAF is !screen. Even that for some people is NO,NO. I won't go beyond !screen if I were you.

You will essentially be leaning out your motor. Can be good, can be tragic.

everyone says dont do it but I did and havent had any problems...if I could do it again though I would have just left it alone though, as I might have problems later down the road when i want to get the car tuned...

You will probably find out that you are running leaner than before. Seems like all the cars that I have dynoed that were de-screened or ported, that showed up as a culprit on the ole' A/F ratio.
