Default Fuel Pump?

I am not getting a quick response from the stang forums so If anyone can help please do.

I have a 93 gt 5 speed however lately ive noticed that if i dont press the gas enough the car moves back and forth surging? Im not sure if im explaining it right its kinda like when your foot is still on the clutch while not giving it enough gas.
If my foot is too light on the gas it will move back and forth like it needs more gas i press the gas more and the problem stops.

My conculsion is the fuel pump not getting an accurate signal at low throttle? this happens in all gears if gas is not depressed enough.
my 2nd guess is the throttle link cable loose? any help I plan on replacing the stock pump and checking the fuel regulator.

Im not very familiar with the functions of Stangs, however, I had a LT1 Camaro that did the same thing. Ran like crap during part throttle operations. Wide open, ran great. No check engine lights. Turned out to be O2 sensor. During wot the O2's dont adjust. Does the car run ok when you first start it?

There are alot that can cause surging like you discribed. Probably not the fuel pump but more like a fuel filter, clean out the TB, pressure regulator...

when I first start the car the rpms jump from 600 to 1000 like a small rev which I conculde that its a bad battery since my battery dies if I leave the car alone for more then a week a drain in it.

I will replace the o2 sensor since I havent since I had it.

Signal to the fuel pump?

A ’93 will have just a plain return style fuel system, the pump is either on or off, on if the car is running.

Surging, sounds like cam surge, how big is that cam?
