Default Exhaust tips? - appearance mod only?

I was wondering about this too. I just got some of those Corsa clone tips and am going to cut off the Magnaflow tips. Wonder how it will sound.

Exhaust tips are just an appearance mod. I'm pretty sure there are no performance gains at all and probaly doesn't make the exhuast sound different as well right?

The exhaust tips will slightly change the sound, a friend put borla tips on his car and the sound was a little diffrent but enough to notice.

Tips will not change the volume of your exhaust, but it will most definitely alter the tone. I noticed a big difference switching from 2.5" dual-dual tips to a 18" long 3" diameter single tip......back when I even had tailpipes.

I've read reports of how the double wall tips that have holes along the inside can help cut down on rasp some.

Thats what I have on my stock exhaust. People think I have a cheaper muffler because I am a little louder than other stock cars. The tips changed the tone thats for sure.

Now that I've installed the tips, the sound and tone is a bit different. A bit higher pitched with a bit more cackle. I like it better.
