Missed oppurtunity to run a modded Ford GT
The time was around 1015 pm last night. I was sitting in a parking lot BS'ing on my cell because I couldn't hear over my exhaust (window up) LOL !! Of all the cars to see (caught with my pants down, <not literally>) a beautiful Black and white or maybe it was grey FORD GT went flying down the service drive of I96 west with a serious exhaust note. Not like the stock ones I had already heard. It sounded like a jet, but like the title of the post says, missed oppurtunity. I hope to run into him some time, even though by the sound of that beast he will probably kill me. Will repost if and when I get the oppurtunity to see this guy again. Bottom line, he had a magnificent looking and sounding Ford GT.

Where on 96? I've seen a few recently around the Wixom area. I don't remember if one had that color, but they're damn sharp vehicles. I've also recently spotted a Roush Stage 3 with an 'M' plate, and a New Saleen in the area. I reved at the old guy in a suit behind the wheel of the Roush to try to at least get a listen (I imagine a race would have been pointless), but he never looked over.

I did get behind one of the Ford GTs I mentioned on 96 a bit East of 23. Traffic was such that we couldn't race (even though I'd lose pretty bad). I didn't tailgate or anything. However, he did step on it a few times, and I gave chase. He pulled each time pretty good (and perhaps he wasn't even WOT), but I appreciated his willingness to spend the gas. Some of the people with exspensive cars like that have an attitude such that they won't give a "lowly" Camaro the time of day.

Ford GT'S are way underrated . . . by at least 50 hp.
allngn_c5 does have a ~400 lb. weight advantage. I'd say it would be close if he was racing a stock one.
But, as allngn_c5 pointed out, I think even a mildly mod'd Ford GT would have enough to pull.
What power are you putting to the ground Jay?
I'd love to run a mod'd Ford GT

I agree !!! It would be fun running him. Sounded like a damn jet when the one I heard punched it.

From a 60 we were even (trading off shifts, like you said) to 150
From a 70, I left it in 3rd, he would get the jump on me (He is in 2nd) and I would reel him in and pass him at 140 and have a car on him at 165
It is a very fast car, but, the Z06 was clearly the quicker car, since I would pull him AFTER he gets the jump on me.

His car can trap as high as 128 mph in the 1/4. The Ford GT would have a massive handicap in aerodynamics at high-speed when compared with the C6; as would most cars compared to the slippery shape of the 'Vette

With a big enough shot of Nitrous going through your car you could probably knock out a lot those guys on Woodward. I wonder if Fadi knows about all the big guns out today??

He wasn't just driving, he hit it hard and stayed on it as he passed where I was sitting. So anyone driving like they stole it, probably is an oppurtunity to race.
