Well after spending years working on everyone else's car, mine will be built this upcoming winter.
So far the rolling chassis will be done in October which is 25.5 cage,Mini tubs(fit's 13" wide wheels )K-member,9" fully built with 40 splines ect,Strange brakes, wheelly bars, parachute ect, ect. Mind you the car has 4.5k miles on it
Tranny is a powerglide with brake.

Now the engine. This car will be driven on the street to cruise night's and some $$ races.

Option #1
370ci
ET or AFR heads
Cam of choice
101 Turbo

Option #2
408ci
ET Heads
Cam ?
Same 101 Turbo or even bigger

Both setups with run a front mount A/A intercooler (for street use) and a dual nozzle Meth setup.

What do you guy's think?

seeing as that alot of guys have proven that it doesnt take cubes to go fast i think you should do the 370ci, but either one is gonna be bad ***, good luck brother

you using an iron block either way... why not get the bigger crank?
to me that would be silly... more cubes = ability to spool faster/use bigger turbo which ever you prefer... if you spending that much money on the chassis why not the motor?

personally if i was looking to make a mean race car i would make a iron 402... leave some room in the block for a hone...

thats just my opinion.

I agree with ty-ty13. Option #2. Will help you spool that big-*** turbo a lot faster. Both set-ups will cost about the same.

Ya,It will be easy to make the power.Just alot of $$.
When a motor is built it won't be just 1,I will build 2 shortblocks.Maybe 1 of each Right now my goal is 1000rwhp through the glide which should be pretty easy. That should put the car at mid 8's.Then we'll go for 1500rwhp and hopefully break the 7's.

The ultimate plan is to run a high 7,then drive it the 100 miles back home Probly need a gear vender too

I would go with the bigger motor. Like everyone else said, it will spool faster and make more overall power.
Either way im sure it will be nice when its done.

I would also choose the 408 and an air/water intercooler. I think all the 1500 hp on here cars use them. If your goal is 7's I think your creating a hurdle with an air/air.

Well,my only hurdle with a bigger motor is spinning it to 8000rpm but I'm sure it can be done.

As for the AtoW intercooler I'd rather stay away from that for now.Yes,we have alot of our shop cars running them with great success but mine will be a street car also.I know we can hit 900rwhp through the A/A setup, then I would figure some good meth should cool it enough for 1100+hp on a track run.

Pics will be up when it's done in October. Here is some pics of what I started with. Not 1 spec of rust anywhere
