Torque converter bolts
This may be a stupid question, but do you get to the torque converter bolts by taking the starter out and go through that hole? This is on a 98 TA (LS1). Thanks for any help!

some are the 8mm hex ones. use a name brand tool, otherwise it'll round them out. If you want to make the job easier, you should probably get a torch to heat them up, otherwise even an impact will not break them loose in some cases.
