Default Should I buy QTP long tube headers if i get a turbo system?

I know i posted this on the other external parts part of the forum, but i am not sure where this question belongs. Because its more based on the turbo system. that would make the choice.

QTP is having a sale on their headers and i would like to take advantage of it if i know that i am going to need them. The thing is, i am deciding on forced induction, pretty much either a sts rear mount or a twin turbo front mount. I know with the rear mount, i would neeed the headers, but say if i go with GMR speed or ohio forced inductions front mount turbo, will i still need headers?

also, should i get them with or without cats? I mean i hear that front mounts would melt the cats because of the heat. I don't know about the rear mount though.

no offense taken. That is why i am getting some one to build me everything. I don't really have to know everything about the turbo build. I am not a mechanic or engine builder. nor do i have time to be one or learn. The people i have working on it, i know personally, which i guess is a perk. However, When i did go to Cartek, they did recommend that i get long tube headers for the STS rear mount. Now why would they have said that?

i dont really know, but there have been numerous dyno tests and when they switch from headers to stock manifolds, etc, they alwasy gain going to stock one/shorties.

you should do a search...someone gained a ton of spool time by removing headers off his sts system and adding stock manifolds.

it has a lot to do with keeping the heat in and exhaust velocity up.

Thanks a lot guys. You just saved me $1200 give or take. I was actually going to go full out and get qtp long tubes and even get them coated. Now i don't have to anymore. Would it be worth it to get the hot part headers that come with the system coated?

Quick Reply: Should I buy QTP long tube headers if i get a turbo system?
