I found a TransGo shift kit on ebay for $80 and I was wondering if this would be something I need for my a4? I do drive the car like I stole it and my trans has been gettin a little hot lately so I was thinking about buying this shift kit and putting a trans cooler on it. Would this be a good ideal?

yeah it wont hurt i have one in my car. You can adjust the firmness of the shifts with washers that they supply in the kit. I have mine set to the firmest but i like it rough lol. The trans cooler will also help keep things cool. If your there why not through a stall in it? with a stall and the kit you should be able to knock off .5 on your e.t.

do it, ull behappy. if i take my at a desent throttle and i hit 20 it shifts hard...i love it

well I dont really have the money to have it put in the shop, how hard is is to install yourself?

I'm no mechanic but I always give everything the old college try and I would be hesitant to mess with anything inside the transmission beyond filter changes. I let someone do my kit. Disclaimer: This is just my opinion.

I'm going to put one in myself, although I've never messed with anything in a transmission short of changing a filter or T/C. I've researched this on here (transgo kit) and the consensus is, yes, a decently capable / outfitted home mechanic can do it. I understand the kit comes with a video and decent instructions as well as a support hotline. Besides ... there's all these LS1techers who just love to lend advice!!
