May need to lube up the gears. Also check that the
blade is not bent or jamming into the body when closed.
Probably easier to check on the bench than on the car.
Electric motors can get crusted up at the commutator
when they sit at one position constantly (just like door
window motors). A bit of dry graphite down into the
brush area and free run it for a while to scrub it clean,
and reinstall the motor to the piece with a new random
resting position, perhaps?

I know I had wiring issues where the male/female connector on the switch broke in half. I rewired that. Also had a tire on the interstate late at night strike the cutout and cut the wiring at the connector. Man this thing is a hoot! LOL

Well I looked under the car today as the wifey was opening and closing it. The cutout doesnt close all the way and I also noticed that when open all the way the vibrations made it close back up a tad. Going to take it into work one day and thow it on a lift and see what I can do.

...Just a suggestion...give it a HUGE SHOT of silicone spray or WD40 and see if that loosens it up----i did that a couple years ago and it closed faster and completely right away---you gotta remember all that soot/exhaust/crap gets EVERYWHERE ....won't hurt to try..worked for me.

I fixed it yesterday afternoon. The flapper door wasnt connected to the motor rod via sleeve. Fixed it and it worked. Then last night I heard a loud pop and the motor broke off the flapper again and seperated from the piece that bolts onto the pipe. So fvck it. I will manually open and close it I am done with Electric cutouts.
