Default What color should i paint my calipers.

The car is NBM and i was initially going to paint the calipers red. Well i bought the paint tonight and i accidentally bought chevy orange... im guessing its something like hugger orange ( the can top looked red under the lights at wal-mart! ) .

Then I got to thinking maybe i should try to match the calipers to be near the same color of the car? Or i can paint them black, because red may look gaudy. Some one please help me choose.

Paint them black, it's subtle... or polish them.

Red looks great on NBM I think. That is what I have on mine and really like the look. But its really up to personal preference.

well josh , can you do the 2 for 1 deal? I let you work your magic on my rims ... and you will throw the calipers in for free ??? I can even bring them to you , since you arent all that far away!

In all seriousness though, I have put more thought into the black. The red would be a bit gaudy in my opinion , and would probably regret it.

P.S. keep up the excellent work with the polishing... seems like you really know what you are doing!

I just don't think red would be a good choice on his car.

His thin-spoked Corvette rims show a lot of the brakes, red screams out to anyone in eyeshot, and when your brakes get dirty, all the nooks and crannies will be loaded with brake dust. It won't look so good 3 months after painting.

If he does black it will blend and match more, and the brake dust wont really be a problem.

If they're polished the cracks with brake dust are simply reflected with all the other black stuff around... it doesn't really look that dirty as long as the main polished section is wiped clean.

In The End.... I'd go with black, how about wire brushing them with a drill and wire attachment and then clear coating? After 4 months hit it with the wire brush again and clear. That would be pretty cool.

black. easier to maintain, cleaner look, will not clash with any accent color you use on your car if/when you change it.

i like the polished look. but wouldnt you have to worry about them getting pitted? or could you clear coat them?
