i was suggested to 2800-3000 stalls. They say its good for the streets and its also right where you want it to be on an lt1 using stock cam.. i wish i had the money to get the stall..

I'd say about 2800-3400 with a GOOD 9.5" convertor. when I say good, I mean one that ranges in price from $500-900. If it's less than 450, question why. a crappy converter with a 2500 stall, will drive worse than a quality 3000 stall. also don't forget to think about the STR rating, as that plays a big effect on how hard it "hits", and how tight it is up top.
If you haven't picked a brand already, I will suggest a few good ones: Yank, Presion Industry(vigilant), Edge. stay away from low end brands like raptor, B&M, and other 200-300 pieces. You get what you pay for. If you knew this already, consider it just a reminder.

I've had a number of stalls, all because i keept going to low. The best stall that worked for me was the 3600. But i still think the most all around dd stall was the 3200.
Don't forget a trans cooler. I got 29000gvw and it sill got hot on a warm day. I had to put a deep pan on it just to keep it under 200deg.
Its the best mod for the money you will love the it performs.

it depends on what you can tolarate I have heard of some people that say they love their 4400 stall and DD it but on the other hand some people say that streetable is 3500 and lower. I guess it depends on the person.

I have a friend with a stock cam LT1(in a roadmaster. the duration is about 10* less. than an F-body) He has a 2800-3200 edge(thats the range it's considered), and he tells me how he wants more stall. It's his daily driver, so I dout he would want a sloppy convertor for around town use.
Don't forget that rear end ratio, and amount of torque, and weight all play into where it ends up stalling at.
