T REX V2 242/248 @ .050 .608''/.612'' 110 LSA 25 degree overlap

MS4 239/242 @ .050 .649''/.609'' 111 LSA 18.5 degree overlap

Futral F15 236/239 @ .050 .600''/611'' 111 LSA 15.5 degree overlap

MS3 237/242 @ .050 .603''/609'' 112 LSA 15.5 degree overlap

G5X4 ? ? ? ?

Overlap determines the idle chop. higher the number , rougher the idle .

Shouldn't you be looking for the cam that performs the best? They all sound nice IMO.

Yeah but this is Import Slayer, you should see the they post in the Street Race Forum

Anyhow juding by their other posts I think they must only be 13 or 14, so picking a cam on the sound it makes is probably 100% logical for them.

Trex sounds awesome, but if you've seen any clips of any largest cam they all sound good.

www.ls1sounds.com has some good clips on it, plus of course Ls1tech media and video download section.

ya all cams that are this size will all lope pretty rough but lets see which pull better on the dyno, and check out the rpm ranges thats where the money is at.

You can also just lower the idle of a medium size cam to make it sound pretty mean.

I am not choosing a cam based on sound I just wanted to hear other peoples opinion's on what they think is the meanest sounding cam. nice assumption though

Yes, listen to this guys info Import Slayer. He 100% correct and thanks for the info CWS T/A. The degrees of overlap is the key here and is more accurate in planning for sound purposes than just LSA alone.

I love the sound on that 231/237. Excessive chop just sounds nasty, but that thick throaty rumble is music to my ears

I just got a G5X4...just waiting to fire it up. I had a TRak cam before and that cam also had a really nice lope to it....just didn't want .649" lift every day.

off topic: how do u calculate overlap? what ICL r most of these cams installed at?

back on topic: only experience in person is the TRex and F14(232/234 .598/.598 112lsa). like the F14 better, but alot could have to do w/ the exhaust.
