Default Need to get cats on my car for inspection- need suggestions on good flowing cats

I moved to NC and there is inspection here. Safety and OBD is all they check, there is no sniffer test but I won't pass with an OR Y as it is 'if' they do a visual on the exhaust.

Does anyone have suggestions one good flowing cats? I can buy a Mac Y with cats, but I've heard they don't flow that good.

Open to any suggestions on aftermarket cats, welding some high flow cats won't be a problem into the current ORY.

Thanks,

Claire

i would buy some cheap cheap cats, from summit or something, . . gut them out and slide your exhaust tubing through them, . . that way it'll look as if you have cats but they wont be functional, . . i will be doin that soon, . . pros of each: beat visual inspection, save money, more flow vs. beat visual , spend alot of money, and less flow, . . . .. . . . . . . . . . .

I hear ya on that, we are thinking of doing this as well. I didn't want to trash some new ones, and I don't really want to buy another Y pipe either for close to $400

Well, I guess we'll figure it out. I wouldn't mind having to buy some Kooks LT's with cat either but that's not gonna happen!

Thanks guys, I will have to check into some cheap **** thru Summit or Jegs and see about getting then welded in for looks anyway

Picked up my dynatechs from summit. They're somewhat cheaper, are very compact, flow pretty well, and are OBDII certified so you get the best of every world. And just for reference I have a 408 setup with an LS6 intake/ported tb that made 475/450 through these on a mustang dyno.

Screw the CATS. I live in Charlotte, NC and got by w/ no problems. Just find a good ole homeboy shop and start talking cars with em and you'll be fine, or at least I was

Dynatechs here, flow very well. Has twice as much surface area than my random techs(which fell apart)
