Default Tranny doesn't shift!!!

I need some insight from some tranny techs. I am wondering why my damn tranny doesn't shift at WOT. Once I get close to redline where it should shift it will not and if I stay in it the damn thing will bounce off the rev limiter. So I have to let off the gas for about a sec or 1/2 a sec to shift on its own. This kills me in races. Well not really, but makes them closer. I don't think this is normal. HELP ME PLEASE!!!! Sorry so long....

TIA,
JON

you guys really arent gonna wanna hear this but, i just had the same problem. first it started with my gears up top. wouldnt shift at WOT on the freeway. it would go to where it normally shift and then just pass it up real fast and bouce off the limiter. then it started happening from a dig. eventually the damn thing wouldnt even shift out of 1st, no matter how slow i went. i had to get it rebuilt. and thats where all my 383 cash went. my advice to you guys is take it to the shop now before you really eff somethin up.

I've got the same problem and ordered a FLT level 4 tranny. Hope this tranny will hold...

Just get it rebuilt or buy a new one. Good luck on eitherway and let us know what caused the problem.

i'm not tranny tech but my car was doing the same thing in january it wouldnt shift at wot unless I let of the gass a little only on 1-2 2-3 shift. I was on the z28 fourum and a few people had the same problems this guy suggested for us to adjust the shift lever arm on the trany and sure enough mine was out of ajustment. I also changed the fluid and filter that was 10 k miles ago no problem since it worked for quite a few people u might whant to check it out..

Either the car needs a tune or the clutches & bands are bad..I had the same problem & it was the transmission
