Default Gauges in AC vent

I heard you could mount gauges in the AC vents. I have taken my A/C out and think it would look a lot better than a pillar especially b/c I am going to have 3 gauges. Does anyone know what gauge fits the vent? Do I need som sort of spacer? How east is it to route the wires through the vent, would I still need to go through firewall. Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially if you've dont this yourself before. Thanks.

Easy as hell... just pull the vents out.... theres foam on the sides... easy to rout wires.....
2 5/8 are the gauges that will fit.

Here are mine.

Just pull out the vent..... and your CD player to make it easier.... right behind where the vynal of the dash meets the plastic duct there is foal and behind that foam is the empty space behind the dash...... just route your wires...

Hope that helped.

That looks great. One day I'll do the same thing if I ever find the need to add additional gauges to the car.

That brings up another question. What gauges are you guys adding? Oil temperature? Transmission temp for autos? I just don't want to add gauges just to have gauges, I'd want them to be useful and functional. One day I will go with wide a wideband O2 for tuning purposes and I could see putting in a gauge for that.

Boost..... nice to have
Then Trans temp.. for me and cruising the street with my Glide and must..... i also have the LM-1 wideband but its home is in the glovebox.
