I didn't know that Futral ground cams. Don't they use Crane?

They don't grind them, they put an order to cammotion.
I don't know of any LSx shop that grinds their own.

Comp isn't a "custom cam" in my book.. Places like Elgin cams that actually grind based on your requested valve events are custom. They take your events and grind the lobe based on your request.

I was under the impression comp wants big money to grind a cam based on your valve events if they don't have a lobe that matches your request. IE making you a custom lobe. I think Elgin and the other cam MFG do it a lot less.

That's why we're talking about a custom cam, not custom lobes. I just want to know where to have the right lobes put together.

Grinding to custom VE and designing a lobe are 2 different things. of course grinding to a custom lobe will cost more. But custom VE's on actual market lobes are not expensive.
I get mine from TSP for the same price as they offshelf cams $ 369.00

Comp has a bazillion different lobes. I would think that an engine builder could find the combination they want without having custom lobes made.

I called Thunder and told them exactly what I wanted. They placed the order to Comp and a week or two later I had my custom cam, at no additional charge. I think anyone could call Comp directly and order a cam FWIW.
