Question Anyone see this on their Throttle Body?

Hi all, I have a question about this strange black box on my throttle body. A few think it may be a sensor, but i really don't think so. There are no wires or inputs for anything. I think it is just a type of attachment to hold the cable, while still being able to pivot on the ball on the side of the TB. But i could be totally wrong. staringback05 posted that he had never seen it before, and i rarely see an f-body roll into our shop, so I can't really say for certain that I have seen one. I did a search on here but came up w/ nothing (prolly something here, i just can't find it.) Anyone have any input?

Thanks for the help.

Mark Jr.

no thats definitely your cruise control cable, have you not ever felt it while going down the road, when you turn on the cruise control do you not feel the gas pedal stick?? thats why it holds the cable in that certain place!!!

On the 3rd gens it used a TV cable for the 700R4 trans that looked just like that. A little confused on why it would be on a 98 though.

I just brought up the TB view for cable replacement and it is only on models without traction control and with cruise control.

That cable goes to the cruise control box. The box takes up the slack in the cable. That is the quick release fitting on the throttle cam.
