Default Oil Analysis on Amsoil XL 5w-30.

The 11/03 was pre cam install and the 9/06 was post cam install. Lead and Iron were slightly higher but copper was way down. Could you say it's a healthy engine from the analysis? Knowledgable comments are welcomed.

Forgot to say that 11/03 analysis was on Mobil 1.

I would be happy with analysis if it were my car especially considering this is the entry-level AMSOIL. Even with the slight increase in lead and iron it is still a good result. The copper came way down which is excellent in these engines since they are known for dumping lots of copper.

How many oil changes since the cam?

The cam has been in about one year now and I have done 2 oil changes since. It does see quite a bit of short trips.

I would give a the ASL 5W30 or the European 5W40 a try.

Here's the analysis I just got back from my LSX based pick up. Both were with the ASL 5W30. I absolutly beat the **** out of this truck, offroad, hauling, and burning out of stop lights all the time.

How long does it take to get an analysis back and how much does it cost? Can anyone give me their phone number or address?

Your cooper has come down nicely. However, your lead is high for only 3,963 miles. This is about as much lead as I would expect to find after a 10,000 mile OCI (oil change interval). The high lead is from excessive bearing wear. This car is obviously run aggressively. If it were my car I would step up to Amsoil 5w-40, M1 5-40, Redline 5w-40, or switch to GC 0w-30 (it is almost a 40 weight) for the added protection.

If you send the oil out USPS it usually takes less than a week for them to email the results back. It's only $20 for a basic analysis, $10 more for a TBN (let's you know how much life is left in the oil). Google blackstone labs. You can request a sample kit for free. They send you everything you need to pack up the sample and ship it.
