Damn, no price range at 17 with a TA. I would say the "Search" is your best friend.

Make a post in the LS1 engine section. Just say you're 17, you don't know what you want, and you have "no price range". The sponsers will help you decide you have a price range.

you should buy all the mods off my car for $$1,000,000. All parts come with a full 10/10 warranty. (seconds/feet)

Well i am looking at power, i have already looked into most parts, and i cant decide which ones are better to get. I mean the car is fast and all, but i had the "fun" out of the car, i have been to tracks and such, and it does a good 4.9 second 0-60 w/o street tires, and maxed out at 150 something, (all done on a controled track) but i am looking for more than that, it has i am guessing like 325-375? horsepower, then i see other people having like 500-800 horse power all engine, and i am wondering what it will take to achive this power...
Now my Barstool Racer has power!

lol 0-60 and max speed arent really what these cars are about i dont think. these cars are good for straigiht line, quarter mile. and if you're wanting to keep your LS1 in the car, and be all motor, you're gonna max out at around 450 hp at the wheels. you'd definately be lookin at a power adder to get 500-800 rwhp like you want.

what all is done to the car now? if its only bolt ons, it'll be around 350 hp, and thats FULL bolt ons. if its stock it'll be between 295-315 hp, at least from what i
see on here.

Alright you don't have a budget. You don't know what you want. And you need help. Well I'm Gonna help you. First start with the basics, Bolt-ons like lid, filter, longtube headers. Theres also some what guys in here call the free mods( I wont go into those just do a search). Then when thats all done start researching a heads/cam setup and when you do that if you have an auto get a stall converter aswell. To finish all that off makesure you get a tune. No need to dig into a motor and rebuilt some big cubed monster that motor hasen't even been broken in yet, so stick with that. you going to be so happy with that setup for a little while hopefully. After that when you start getting that ich to go faster start spraying, the juice is fun and these motors responed very well to that. Your young you'll have plenty of time to make 500 to 800 RWHP, so start with this setup and have fun with it and you'll learn alot about these cars in the process which will prepare you for any future prjects down the line.

Now good luck and go have fun with that car you lucky Bastard.

Does the picture on the right seem a little homosexual to you? It was a joke from a thread on seat stays up. The problem though was we had one retarted person get the thread closed.

EDIT: This thread is idiotic and needs to be closed. This thread = waste of space.

Read the stickies.

So bolt ons will not achive 500-800 horsepower, then what will? I know Turbos, and blowers will, but i would like to stay away from that kind of thing. Nitrous will, but isnt that bad for your engine, and if not what will i have to the motor in order to take a "big" shot of wet nitrous? And will nitrous even achive that amount of horsepower?

If you say you are going to keep the motor in the car I assume you mean you don't want to remove it. If that's the case you shouldn't put more than 450-480hp to the rear wheels. If you want to go higher than that, you will need to remove the motor and forge it. The stock bottom end will not take much more power than that all-motor. To make more power than that you would have to be revving higher than 7k and the rods will give out and come through the block before that on a 2000 LS1.
---
I would do as MyTA99 suggested. Get a lid, headers, LS6 intake, high stall converter, some free mods, a set of 4:10's, exhaust, and a tune. That will have you more worried about buying new rubber than mods for a while. Also, you may need the tranny beefed up with all the above mods or you'll burn it out.
---
Also, as Spiderman's dad told him, "With great power comes great responsibility."
You're gonna need to learn how to handle your newfound power. You won't be able to mash the pedal without hazing the tires. Do as suggested and take it in steps. I have and learned a lot in the process, which made each successive step easier and more stress-free. I don't think there's a worse feeling than opening up your motor, doing a ton of work with expensive parts, putting it back together, starting it and having it sound like a bunch of spoons in a blender. I've read many posts by guys that 'knew what they were doing' and something went wrong anyway. Sure, an LS1 is a motor, but it is different than an SBC in many ways and some of those ways don't relate.

nah bolt ons only net you around 350. you dont seem like you know a whole lot about these cars so i suggest you just research them for a while and learn things about them. theres much more to having a fast car than just dumping a ton of money into it, letting someone else do the work, and hopping in it and mashin the gas and goin. you gotta know how all the parts work, how it makes more power, just learn about motors in general.

nothin looks worse than a kid rollin up in a 600-800 hp car that doesnt know much about it in general. those are usually the people that dont know how to handle that power and end up tearin the car up or loosin control and wrecking, and we wouldnt want that for you. and also, with tons of power, you hafta sacrifice reliability, and with that you will need to have common sense about cars so yyou can make repairs that are associated with a car that makes tons of power like that. i say just shoot for 450 hp max, thats plenty enough to turn heads and that'll take a while to get use to.
