Default EGR Valve and air pump

Thinking about removing these. I have pace setter LT with the emission hook ups. I know they make an EGR valve block off plate, but what do you use to block off the EGR Tube connection to the header and where the air tubes from the pump attach at the the top of the headers?

I know if I do this I'll need to delete the code so I don't get an SES light.

Thanks

The kit with the Plates comes with 3 plates, 2 are for the spots on back of the Intake, and the third for the Header. I used 1/2" plugs from Lowes to block the Headers off when I had my old emissions shorties. The Air stuff is easy to remove, remember to block the Intake off also. You more than likely won't throw a light, the 95's and back aren't as touchy.

I did a search and came accross this; https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...9&page=3&pp=20

After reading, it's seems this is not a good thing to do on LS1's. It doesn't mention LT1's though and I will say that I have been running a vented pass. side valve cover for about a year now with no issues. So is this mod different for LT1 compared to LS1 or is it the same principal and should NOT be done

Merv, Where are you getting the kit from, what are the two spots on rear of intake. I thought their is only one where the EGR Valve goes? Did you pull the PVC valve and block it too, if so how?

I thought the pcv and the egr systems were seperate? Or is the air pump part of the pcv system?

It's my understanding they work together. Read the link a couple post up and see if you understand it that way.

Well I read the link, it seemed they were talking only about the PCV system, I didn't read anything about removing a air pump. I read all 3 pages, and the 1st post describing the procedure, I can't seem to find a mention of a air pump.

On the Intake, the EGR Valve bolts on, as well as the EGR Exhaust Tube from the Manifold/Header, which you have to block off also.

Okay, didn't realize the tube was seperate, thought it was part of the EGR. Where did you get the kit?
