Default Started Hi-Flo install....Hi-Flo people will want to see this

Well I have the headers and crossover on. The v-band on the driver side is a bitch to get on since it hits the k-member. People with a tubular will prolly not have a hard time. Also I was able to get the driverside header in without removing the steering shaft.

As you can see here there is only 1/2 - 1" clearance from the crank pulley.

Now here is the problem. There is not enough room to fit the downpipe even with the radiator support installed. The downpipe is supposed to bolt up right where there is a sensor on the radiator.

As you can see the only way for it to fit is by removing that sensor and trying to block off that part of the radiator.

Smearin and Turbo LS1 how is yours setup.

Also as you can see I had to buy my own v-bands, gaskets, wastegate, etc.

ive only seen it on a few cars. I believe its a coolant level sensor. But ill be honest...I believe only the Lt1 cars had that on their radiators on some few 98-99 cars. Ive pulled quite a few radiators lately and havent seen that sensor.

This a canadian car by chance?

All i can say is none of the cars our kits have actually gone on had the sensor, so we had no clue about it.. this is interesting, i pray there is a simple block off!!

ive never seen that sensor on any f-bod before... other than that the stuff looks about right!

wrap the parts that are close and youll be fine. i also highly recommend heat-TAPING the joint in the intermediate steering shaft where the plastic crush fitting is. my headers caused my first one to melt which caused ALOTA play in the steering. i wrapped my replacement shaft and ive had no problems

word, that does suck.

Bill, i didnt know about the steering shaft issues! i guess some of the headers have runners closer to the shaft than others.. thats kind of a bummer. Is your crossover pipe that close to the harmonic also?

my x-over is fairly close. ~3/4" i'd say, plus that happens to be where the flex pipe is. no worries, i havent had a problem yet.

the steering shaft MAY have had that issue due to when i first got the car running with the kit on, w/o a tune. the header was glowing red (i was a little rich to say the least), so that may have started the meltage. regardless, id still suggest taping it to save the possible issue. no problems since

uh.. why is the hell go through all that trouble.. that is retarded.. jsut unplug the ******* thing... it doesn't throw any codes when jsut unpluged and taken out.

theres no way the kit would ever work with that sensor, so there isnt really a workaround. its gotta be blocked off.

Its the coolant level sensor, most people end up unplugging them anyway because they give a "low coolant" light even when you have plenty of fluid in the radiator.

I had 2 98 f bodys and they both had the sensor. One was bad and said low coolant even though it was full. I would try to tilt the radiator up. Also Hi-Flow should have made it a little farther away from the plastic radiator in the first place .The crossover is a little close too.

Its held on with a clip, and uses an Oring to seal. Our radiators do not have a provision for this, and over the last 3 or 4 years, we only had to machine maybe one boss up to accept the sensor

Also if you have 98 valve-covers you have to cut off where the coils mount.
