No 64-67 GTO/Tempest/Lemans projects?
I did a search and did not see anything.
I've had a bunch of old cars in the past, and am thinking about a 64-67 GTO (body style) LSx project.
Anyone got one going? What headers are you using?
I'd love a roller 64 GTO, but they are pretty pricey. Seeing some 66-67 Lemans rollers for $5K, and some runners for $7K.

John Parsons (forum name: parsonsj) did/is doing a ChevyII which I think is the same body as the GTO/Tempest. If you're going to put an LSx into it, there's no point in getting a GTO. Just get a Tempest and put the GTO badges on it when you're done.

64-72 A-bodies (Chevelles, GTO, LeMans, Cutlass, Regal, etc...) all share the same chassis. So for headers, the new Hooker headers will work fine.
FWIW John Parsons car has about as much in common with a stock Nova as it does with an Enzo Ferrari.

my dad has a 1967 GTO and I've really been pushing him to replace the 400 with an LS2...
he agrees it would make the car much better overall. he just doesnt want to lay down the cash... yet

I have thought it would be cool to take a 64 or 65 LeMans/GTO and make the Retro GTO that GM shoulda made instead of the rebadged Holden that looks like a Camry. Put all the good suspension and brakes and an LS2 drivetrain. Do some subtle body mods to modernize it. Would be a sweet ride.

67 tempest convertible
There are a few conversions being done now. There are already aftermarket suppliers for engine mounts and tranns cross member. I am in the middle of a frame off resto\upgrade but the engine and transmission are in.

So here's a question, who sells conversion motor mounts and trans mount for a 64-67 Lemans/GTO swap? Will the trans be in the stock location, or be moved at all? Anyone have a good engine pic?
