I'm disappointed.... very disappointed... I took out two LS1's today, and.. what else can I say, I was expecting alot more. With the amount people talk the LS1's up. I tested an auto stocker ws6 t/a (with 46,000 for $17k) and a "400 hp" cammed, full exhaust no cat camaro SS, with 65,000 miles for $18k. The auto was slllooow. Very disappointing. Then I took out the camaro, it was louder than it was fast. It was quick though, but for the upgrades, I'd expect more. Alot more.. Am I wrong or was it just this dealer has shitty cars?!
But I'll tell you one thing, I'm not going sell my LT1 now!

wow it sounds like some one is just jealous. I only spent $12.5k on my 00 TA with 40k on the clock. I dont think I over paid but maybe I did. Just cause they are generally more expensive doesnt make them trash. I think the LS series of engines have alot more potential then the lt1's I am not knoking the lt1 cause I am looking to buy one actually, but I think the LS1 is a superior motor. As for calling me stupid why dont you go cry in your room for not being able to afford an LS1.

Both LTx & LSx are nice cars to start with and have the potential to become great cars. As for the two that were tested out, maybe just crappy mods or bad tunes or something. A buddy of mine did an exhaust, air lid, and cam mod on his LS1 and I watched it dyno at 398hp (without a tune). I got to drive it and it was a blast. What kind of expectations did you have to begin with???

Had both, and the LT1 FELT a lot faster because of the great low end... that's not to say the LS1 is a slug down low. It feels that way because the top end is a good bit better than the LT1. I'm talking about two cars with nearly identical mods (intake, LTs, exhaust, tuning, Shifter...). I love 'em both and can't wait to buildup another LT1 later on after school

ls1 aren't trash neither is lt1's....if you have a lt1 most people are going to rag on the ls1 and the same if you own a ls1....lsx's are great great hands down but better, thats all up to what your definition of better is

Huh? you mean Great engine + good (street suspension) + Highly crash rated for a sports car (if i remember correctly it's been a few years) + great (street trans) + good (street rear axle)
remember these cars were made to be STREET cars not 8 second 1/4 mile or ralley cars

And...in my opinion I want both LT1 and LS1 (both formula's) I am not a big fan of the T/A's or the Z's...personal preference.... I love both of them.... it's called technology either make it better or get left behind.... example 6 bolt main to 2 bolt main, better head flow, aluminum opposed to cast iron...... yada yada yada
