Default Supercharger and Nitrous-who's done it?

Some background-car is a 02 Z06, stock block, 317 heads, mild cam, D1SC, Alkycontrol/ECS meth kit, headers 645 rwhp-best so far is a 10.60@133. I'm building a forged motor over the winter so don't worry about my shortblock. Now how do I go about adding a small shot nitrous say in 4th gear? Anyone done it-any advice? Thanks!

I would check with Ed Blowen Vert I know he has done it. I believe he just went through his second motor doing so.

I will be doing so, supercharged and spray is a great combo.

I believe Ed's failure wasn't really due to his nitrous , it was because he leaned out.

he revved to 68 instead of 63,EFI live said his A/F was 13:1

I did it years ago with a P1SC and a stock engine and ran 10.50s with a 50 dry shot shutting it off at 5500rpm and 10.90's with just the blower on a full weight F-body. Worked very well, I recalibrated the MAF and was able to use a dry shot with it, but only to about 5500rpm so I just shut it off there with a window switch.

Never hurt a thing and ran the car all summer like that, 15lb bottle lasted forever too. With good pistons you could run quite a bit more, only thing is using a wet shot in the TB probably isnt the best for a boosted car since the distribution would be pretty messed up with a stock intake I would think. But the hassle of doing a direct port for a small shot isnt really worth it either. I can throw a dry shot on here since the BS3 will just add fuel to keep the WOT a/f where I want it but thats only good until the injectors or fuel system runs out..

I've tuned a few of them.If I was you the motor would be 10-1 compression and forget the nitrous

Im going to spray a 100 shot for fun in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully it will put me in the 9's

You have a Alkycontrol/ECS meth kit that should be lowering you temps enough I would think to add a good bit of power. I look at nitrous as just one more thing to go wrong and to worry about.
If you didn't have meth already I would say try out the NX-intercooler chiller setup. I have HEARD that it can lower the temps 40 degrees and have added up to 50RWHP. Not bad considering you don't have to tune around it and the kit is only a little over 200.00 without a bottle, you could even use C02 which is cheaper than nitrous.

Talk to Ed Blown Vert...He's down it very successfully but I think that he messed up his engine (due to a little lean) so that means you have to have your tune DEAD ON... He can probably give you quite a bit of information about that...

i dont think it was his tune though, had to have been fuel pump or something or loss of fuel press somehow.

i've seen a few vortech cars put a nozzle before the t.b., I'm hoping I touch 9's also or at least 10.2's on a 100 shot.

so easy to put it on a credit card too but i'm gonna hold off and try to pay ca$h.

I just want something that i can turn on in 3rd and 4th-just to get me in the 9's! I don't have a clue where to start-but I will do it on a forged bottom end. Nothing crazy maybe something like a 75 shot-what do i do about the meth? Some pointers as to where to start would be great.

you can run meth and spray and boost all together

i dont think anybody has done that yet, i was talkin bout this the other day.

forged bottom ends are cheap now, do that before you do anything else. you are already pushing it pretty good on a stock bottom end. Also I'd like to add do it before you blow it up, lol. Its no fun when **** breaks.

I have been running a 125 wet shot for a while with no issues.

My window switch was messing up. So bypassed it for one run.
Because of that, the engine spun to 6800 instead of 6300 when I normally shift. It leaned out to 13:1 with no knock. I am pretty sure I lost a ringland.

Other than that, I could probably have sprayed for quite a while longer with no problems.

If you run a small shot, you shouldn't have any issues. Just make sure you tune is on.

Everyone says I should run meth. But I worry that if I run out or the pump dies. I will go lean. Kinda moot now.

If I run out of Nitrous, at least I will go rich.

But my plan is to run less Nitrous and more Boost.

9psi...125 wet shot on a weekend driver, and occasionally to work. I have had no problems whatsoever

All ur Et is in the first 330 feet....if u just use it in 4th, most likey the ET won't drop much but the MPH will go up. Try using it in the first couple gears if your suspension setup can handle it.

So how would I implement say a 75 shot to my setup as it is? Should I go wet or dry and a window switch for starters-what else-how much timing do I pull? Do I put it before or after the meth kit? Right now I'm running 11 psi-and no worries this will be done a built shortblock.

i've seen people use the NX wet single or MAF kit. Window switch is a must, also I'd get a fuel pressure safety switch. Timing pull out 3 or 4 degrees to be safe but let your tuner mess with that keep it conservative and safe.

they way i've seen it plumbed is right before the t.b. so i'm not sure where your meth kit is plumbed in.

i can find a pic of how i've seen it done but this would be on a vortech system though.

I would just be careful with the wet kit at the TB, I was burning tips off of #5 and 7 and some others were black using an NX MAF kit with 8-9psi with an LS1 intake. Thats why I went through the trouble of making the dry kit work, just start small and watch them plugs...
