Had the car dyno'd today, lost power, think I know why
I had the car dyno'd today on a dyno jet. Last time I had it dyno'd was on the same dyno on June 14, 2004. The only thing that that has changed from then until now is the FAST 90mm intake and the NW throttle body. The last dyno was 424.8 and tq was 387.8. So I change the manifold and tb and here was the result today. Before I go into that, the intake air temp on 06/14/04 was 81 f and the intake temp today was 56.6 f. So theoretically, it should have made a little more power just because of the temp change. So, here are the pulls today:
HP Torque
1. 393.0 376.1
2. 395.8 362.3
Then he waited about 10 minutes and let the car cool down.
3. 403.0 373.0
4. 395.9 367.4
Last week I put cutouts of the end of the collector on the header. He did one more pull with the cutouts open.
5. 409.2 382.0
Again, the only change is the FAST intake and NW throttle body. I lost like 23 hp. Does any of this make any sense? Any thoughts? I've heard from a few people that the FAST intake doesn't generate any hp, as a matter of fact it loses and I've been told it's because of a port match problem. Any ideas?

Had the car tuned last fall of 2005. I put the FAST on during the summer of 2005. Car ran for **** after I put it on. The guy who tuned it was great. Definitly knew his ****. Owned a shop here in Detroit area once upon a time. Car ran excellant. I forgot to mention the a/f ratio. On the 06/14/04 pulls, the a/f at peak hp at wot was 14.8:1. The a/f was as follows based on the above pulls:
1. 13.0
2 13.1
3. 13.1
4. 13.2
5. 13.1

Is it possible I could be running out of injector. On the a/f, it kindof fluctuates up and down going from 12.7 up to 13.3. On the run with the cutouts open, as the rmp increased, the a/f went from18.0 to 13.1, just down, no fluctuation. Just a thought.

Same dyno, same day, or its not comparable. Take it to the track and tell me you lost 2-3 mph in trap speed. Otherwise, I doubt the car lost any power. Just my .02.
