Smile Recommend me an Oil (yes another one)

Ok folks im looking to put a nice oil in the t/a, usually we just throw nappa 10-40 in everything we get cuz gramps gets the **** for free so therefore I do also and dont complain. but since this cars special i'd like to treat it to something nice.

I live in NC so it gets HOT (up to 110) in the summer and gets COLD ( 6*)in the winter so a good all-around oil is what im looking for. The car has almost 92k miles on it, no idea of previous oil in the car so not sure if it was a synthetic or not.

So with all that being said, reccomend me an oil for good ol Envy whos just about road worthy

this is what i would do. buy a 5w-40 or 10w-40 non syntheitc with wix filter. then by a AUTO-RX and do the cleaning cycle. then use GC 0w-30. i would def use K/N filter (longer version 2006) and put 6 qts in.

I've recently switched to M1 0W40. 0W at cold starts should do nicely for seriously cold temps, and the 40 weight at operating temp should do well for excessive heat.

I used to use M1 10W30. I'm much happier with the reduced engine noise and improved oil pressure of the M1 0W40.

I've heard german castrol or mobile one is the best for the LS1. Also heard Royal Purple thins out too much when it gets hot dunno if its true or not, but I plan on using GC.

basically, seafoam your oil (whatever oil is in there now, add half a can of seafoam, run it for 100 miles and change it immediately). then switch to GC 0W-30 or mobil 1 5W-40.

Good luck finding that. With all the auto parts stores I have in my area, I have never seen a single bottle of M1 5W40. M1 0W40 seems to be working great for me though.

German Castrol synthetic (European oil) hands down!!! I've tried several different oils, and not only did this oil work good in both cold and hot weather climates, it stopped the famous ls1 oil consumption, AND THE CAR LOVES IT.

I have 2 NAPAs in my area, I'll check again but I'm damn near positive I didn't see it there before. Oil selection seems to be slim in my area. I'm lucky just to be able to find the M1 0W40.
