I think 5w30 purp. I used to use 5w30, but then switched to 10w30 when my oil pressure started getting lower than expected. but i think im gonna switch back b/c my pressure is too high now. its above 60 on cold days. and doesnt dip below 30 much. but i also have a completly different motor.

Yep, noone here carries it either. I had to get 10-30 Syntec. So far the car likes it okay I guess. has not burned a DROP in 800 miles.

only at cold startup. at operating temperature, they are both exactly the same.
in 10W-30, it is a 10-weight at cold startup and 30-weight at operating temps.
of course if it's mobil 1, it's really more like 0W-20 because it's so damn thin.

no; oil didnt stopped the famous ls1 oil consuption. you might have reduced it lil bit but your ls1 will still burn the oil.
unless, you have a vaccumm pump setup with catch can.
