Default louder

i am starting to hate the flowmaster more now, so i want to hack it out of there.

what would be a good muffler for a deeper louder tone when cruising?

what size pipes do you have? Doesn't the larger diameter piping do something for the tone of exhaust?

Well the SLP Loudmouth 1 or 2 is probably up your alley heh. Or NO muffler in back, and have it either Y after the axle or single exit. Anyways, something along these lines, like after the cat if there's room (unless you have dual cat) http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Or just run the SLP as I mentioned.

I know what you mean with the Flowmaster, i trashed mine cause I thought it sounded like major crap after a while. In my opinion if you want loud and a great deep sound u gotta do Headers.

everybody says different things about flowmaster, personally i like mine, because i dont like the raspy popping all the time from borla or others ive heard. but my point is HEADERS are going to give you what you are looking for. i have pacesetter mids, gutted cat, and a flowmaster 80 on stock piping and it sounds wonderful. ill see if i can get some clips up for you.

I love the sound of my Loudmouth I, but if I could change something it would be the loud pops and crackles on decel. It sounds awesome on accel and cruise though, mine had the flowmaster when I got it but got tired of sounding like every other fbody on the road. The borla sounds good too and the gmmg(I don't know if it will fit on the lt1 though).

i like the GMMG. thelastZ28's car sounds good with it. but it would be deeper since he has an LS1.

but the price is a turnoff.

Yeah just like the borla's price...big turn off. That's how I ended up with my Loudmouth.

do tips change the sound at all behind the car? because im going back to the stock D tips (rectangle ones) because i think they suited the rear bumper's curves. i noticed a different sound when going to the slash cut 18" tips.

thats weird, my Flowmaster sounds really good still, after 5 year of it being on there.

I say go with a borla, or GMMG, if you got the money, if not I agree with the aero chamber idea, I havent heard the hooker before

Has anyone ever tried the Ultra-Flo Muffler from Dynomax? I used to have it on my car before the GMMG exhaust, and I seemed to like it. The best thing about it was the nice soft idle, then at WOT came a loud roaring pwerful sound.
