Default Engine Problems

So you know something about my car:
The car is brand new to me but I do know that it has a new opti, not sure about anything else ignition wise...

It also has a exhaust leak either at the beginning of the ypipe or a header gasket. It has a unknown performance chip installed, I do have a backup chip that I can install incase the tune is bad.

Well tonight I went on a little cruise and a problem I had felt before but forgot had become very noticeable.

If I go WOT at around 2500RPM it will somewhat bog, not feel much power until it hits 3k or so, but the other problem that im having is that it feels like its hesitating in the upper RPMs, like a dip in the torque output...

What do you think?

I'm guessing it's a 93, but telling us more about your car might help.

mortis car is a 93 all right.. Could be fuel problem Mortify, or that "New" opti could be garbage already....

Sparkplugs and advance are not coinciding with each other. Sparkplugs may need to be replaced and your ignition system sounds like it needs a makover. + the cam makes peak torque at those RPM's. Gotta burn all that fuel if you want all that torque. Easier to burn the fuel when the motor is turning more rpms.

What else would you like to know, its a 93 T/A in used condition and is has M29, im not sure about the chip but I can put in the stocker to see if it makes any difference. What replacement parts should I start with? Plugs, Coil, Wires...

How would I test if its a fuel/ignition problem?

get a fuel pressure gauge and check what the fuel pressure is with key on (engine not running) then engine started and idling, then engine at WOT (disconnect vacuum line to fuel pressure regulator).

Like I said what kind of "new" opti does it have?

Many people like myself put the gauge upto the window and take it for a test run to check psi at WOT and through out the rpm range

Could a exhaust leak on my passenger side cause any of this... maybe not acurate readings from the O2 sensors making it run rich and stumbling??

if it's before 02 sensor could cause some problems.
