just buy the hood from american sports car design. that's where GM got their hood. it's the same thing i believe. they're ON SALE right now for only $695.

it's part TA-700.

Nothing looks like an OEM Hood, all the fiberglass hoods have a different shape to their Ram Air scoops

+1 for American Sports Car Design hoods, they are the highest rated after market hood company as far as fit and finish!

the ASCD hood is the OEM hood. since you're buying it through the company directly instead of GM, you save $500 on the same product. EVERYTHING else is a knockoff hood. the ASCD hood is the real deal.

i just know that the OEM WS6 hood was made by american sports car design. GM bought the hoods from them and installed them on the car from the factory. is the WS6 ram air hood out RIGHT NOW the same as the OEM WS6 hood from years ago? i'm not sure 100%, but probably. if it's not exactly the same, you probably won't be able to tell at all.

it's dumb to buy the hood from GM when the ASCD hood is the same thing. search around for the hood. it's probably the best made and best fitting out there. after all, they're the OEM company.

here's some pics of the ASCD hood:

again, i don't know if it's 100% the same as the GM OEM hood from years ago, but i sure can't detect a difference. if it is different, it sure ain't by much. after all, ASCD made the hood to begin with.

Not trying to prove you wrong or anything, but that Hood is completely different than OEM.
If you look at the hood up by the windshield, the way the hood forms to the scoops.....that curve is totally different.
The nostrils arent nearly as defined as stock either.

look pretty darn close to me. i think the ASCD hood is missing that little lip next to the nose inlets, but is the difference really worth $500?

Just go WS9! Only $600, the composite material used is lighter than fiberglass and stronger, it looks identical to the WS6 hood except it has heat extractors therefore looks nicer/meaner, the ramair design on the WS9 is actually functional and there is no baffles or anything blocking the air like all other aftermarket or OEM WS6 hoods... it leads straight through into your airbox, plus best fitment out of any aftermarket hood. You really can't go wrong wth it IMO.

after working on an LT1, I can't NOT compare everything else to it... "man this accounting exam sucks... well it could be worse, I could be forced to do plugs and wires on an LT1"
