Default 600-700 rwhp?

All of this reading on forced induction is making me want one. I am going to buy one of the new LSX blocks next March and boost it for sure. Although I am still debating on the CI. Where is the best place to buy the bottom end for a forced induction set up? I am aiming for 600-700 rwhp. Is that streetable on these cars?

Yah I don't think so.....

Take the word first hand... Go with a different builder. If I had it to do over again I would have gotten a Wheel2Wheel shortblock in the beginning.

W2W has built some of the fastest ls* engines around, that would be a good place to start, but why the lsX block, seems like some extra weight when a ls2 or ls1 block will easy do 700rwhp without a sweat.

I will be doing all of the work myself. I wanted to try the LSX block just for ***** and giggles. But I am starting to think I should just use my LS1 block and replace the bottom end on it. I have 5.3L heads milled 0.030 right now. I have some 853 heads, but one is cracked. Nothing serious and it isn't losing compression, but it is cracked. Anyway, I just need some input on the best place to get a full turbo kit where I can keep accessories. A supercharger would be fine if I could get it to that area.

P.S. What cam and heads(if mine aren't good enough).

To prop our sponsors up, here are two...

Speed INC makes a hell of a turbo kit that keeps the acc.

A procharger s/c'er kit will make the power you are looking for as well, bob@epp is always easy to get hold of here on the board if you want to purchase a Procharger.

W2W for a built proof FI block

Search button for all your other questions, read, read and read more...plenty of info to be found.

Havn't ever heard of any good news on shorts coming out of a and a. Buy from a more reputable co there are many. Speed inc, Futral, Texas-speed, Lme etc etc.

I didn't really think the actual block itself would have a problem with less than 800 hp. I thought the LS1 blocks could handle the pressure. Obviously I will get new rods, pistons, etc. I will probably keep the stock crank.

As for heads and cam. I figure my 224/224 .581"/.581" 110 wouldn't be the best choice. Also, the 5.3L Ported heads milled 0.030 wouldn't be the best choice, either. I have a set of 853 stock heads sitting in the garage that I am about to port. I need some more practice doing that. What do you guys recommend?

BigBenz, I stated in my first and third post that I would be doing all of the work myself. Yes, I am a grown *** man. ;-p
