my '69 ran 10.7s and managed 25 mpg on the highway. I took it on a 3500 mile round trip for Power Tour 2005. Houston to Wisconsin, to Florida, back to Houston.

Magnacharged 348ci LS6, 230/230 114 cam, ported LS6 heads, 6-speed tranny. www.ExtremeG.net

LSX engines are very efficient at making power, especially in front of a 6-spd tranny.

LS1, longtubes, T56, 4:10's, LS6 intake, unrestricted intake via speed density, unrestricted exhaust, lead foot, about 15mpg. cruising 65-70, it gets 25+..

havent taken it to the track, but im guessing mid 11's. it goes pretty good

Did you do anything to your front suspension? How did it feel at 130? I took mine up to 100 and damn it was a litlte scary, the front end gets really light and the steering is not reassuring and I have a 90's quick ratio box and full hotchkis front and rear. Just wondering if yours felt the same or if you modified your suspension. Cruising at 70-85 its fine but right around 90ish there is just too much front lift for non rack-n-pinion, even with front and rear spoilers.

went fine at 130.. wish I had room to take it up to 180. haha. Im working on putting big brakes on it before I go too crazy, it doesnt stop well. I've got the same steering box as you, check out your toe settings. I've got GW rear, KYB shocks all around. I've got air dam and spoiler, although mine is hugging the ground pretty well. only 3in between dam and ground. it felt twitchy so I put some toe-in in and it feels good now. SS496 on this board took his '68 over 150 and he said it felt fine back when it had a big block and actually ran.

Too funny!!!! you better not break that thing before I get there in 16 days, beoitch, I wanna go for a ride!!!!

The spoilers on the Camaros actually work, for both down force and stability, but in 68 they weren't running 500 HP LS1,

it's not driveable, my steering box is toast, it's up on jackstands for a few months while I upgrade and fix damage.

it's not just that.. the brakes i've got royally suck.. they fade in about 20mph drop, and the body damage in the rear is depressing, and the rear leaf springs have started to fall apart somehow, so i'm re-vamping with an AIRBAR style suspension in the rear, and ATS front spindles to go with my brand new C5 brakes I just got. While i've got it apart, i'll install my MS3 and a new steering box, so i'm just going to take it off the road for a while. It's not just the box.
