Default Good Combo??

I want to buy a SLP 402 Low Compression iron shortblock and then put patriot stage 2 or 3 heads on top of that. I am going to be putting a t-76 turbo on this motor. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks
Chase

Well, tell me if this is over kill but this car is going to be a street/strip car. It is not going to be a trailered car.

There's no such thing as overkill!! Seriously though, the t-76 will be great for a mostly street car. It will spool quicker an make good torque in the lower rpms where you'll spend most of your time. If you plan to spend a lot of time at the track, you may want to step up the turbo to make more top end power.

If I stepped up the turbo would you go higher than a T-88?
Estimate how much HP would that set up get?

Thanks I appreciate your help

If you think something bigger than a t-76 is overkill.. Don't even bother with a 402.. Do a nice forged 347 setup.. If you're going to go with the bigger cubes.. then go for the bigger turbo.. At the least I would do a T88..

Thanks I appreciate your help. I need to make a few more decisions now. But I think I will Go with the 402 and a T-88, Because you can never have enough horsepower.

thanks

just do your research, ask questions(not stupid ones), and make whatever decision is best for you. The T4 flanged T88 is good for 1250 hp.. Which sounds like it will be plenty for your goals.
