New PCV Valve

New PCV Valve
Has anybody used this yet. I picked one up yesterday for about $4 and the design seems kinda weird to me. First off, there is nothing inside it, its just hollow and the hole is tiny compared to the regular pcv valves. Is this right?? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Just for FYI. I have been running this new style PCV and have noticed that my oil consumption has drastically reduced!! I have gone about 3k miles and has oil level has dropped very little. Better than what I was expecting. By this time I would have already added almos a whole quart. Im still at the half way mark on the dip stick!!

blkbird, is your PCV valve the same one on WS6store?
ws6 store GM truck PCV
Also, is there a part number for this to pick up at a GM dealership or would you just get like a 5.3L PCV valve?

I was wondering the same thing about the valve I ordered from WS-6 store months ago but, was too scared to change mine since it looked so crazy. Unfortunately, I was also too lazy to research or post about it.
It's completely hollow. How is that supposed to help??

I have one sitting in my garage. It didn't help my oil consumption any so I put the stocker back in and got a Home Depot catch can. I heard something a while back about the hole being so small that it could allow pressure to build up and cause gaskets to start leaking. I guess if it's ok for the trucks it should be alright.

I disagree. I have not used any oil since deleting my pcv valve. Headers are part of the exhaust system, and it is for exhaust gases to pass through. If oil is going through the exhaust id say that you have different problems and it's not because of installing long tubes.

Don't believe me...contact any of the performance head companys, like TEA,MTI so forth.I'm not saying it's bad, just a small amount is lost.Just the nature of the beast when using cast iron valve guides and not bronze, with cast you need a minimum of .002 between guide and valve stem bronze is half that approx. The only draw back with bronze is you half to use roller tip rockers.
