Leak somewhere
well i came home after a long drive and the car was running great no problems and parked it in my driveway. well forgot something in the car and came back out to find a small puddle under my car, so i look under and there is brownish liquid on the K member and bottom of the oil pan. checked the oil level and its fine, oil pressure is fine, doesnt smell like oil so not oil leak thank god. I think it might be a possible coolant leak and i cant seem to find it, the k member has it all over it and dont know what it is, anyone know or can help???

90% of the time it's a weep hole. Check and see if it's coming out of the pump, and not out from the gaskets. Take the lid/MAF off down to the TB and check it out.
Those gaskets don't just up and start leaking very much. Since you have a '98, you can try out an 02 water pump gasket this time around. 98's are paper, new ones are metal/o-ring.

Crank it up and let it warm up.... See if you can see a drip from anywhere, especially the bottom, "weep area" of the WP.
In severe cases, "and if your car is quiet enough" you can hear a slight roaring, or humming sound coming from the WP.
If so.... Definitly needs replacing.

It SHOULD only weap when it's running if the water pump is going bad.
You could "technically" drive it around forever with a leaky water pump. You would just have to make sure that it never ran low on water.
If it's an LT1 though, and your opti-spark hasn't gone out already, it will very soon with a leaky water pump dripping on it.
