No cats on a loudmouth will make it raspy as ****. Which is probably the case. Unless he has other engine work, but didn't sound cammed.

Its annoying to ride in a fbody with loudmouth and no cats IMO. Whenever you hit 2K rpms, it sounds like a machinegun. Would be okay for a weekend toy.

I think I get it.
Is the dual dual still have a resonator like loudmouth? The reason its so raspy is cause w/o cats, too much sound waves and not enough back pressure stops the resonator from canceling out sounds.

You guys are funny.

The dual dual just means its got dual dual tips.. nothing more.
All loudmouth systems have the SLP Resonator, are 3" Stainless all the way back, until they Y Out on the other side of the axle.

I used this image to help someone out while ago, but this is what a LM looks like laid out.
Single Oval Or Dual Dual Tips... but same exhaust

Could you explain why they sound completely different then.

All cars sound different. As wierd as that sounds, its the truth.
For example, when I put just my Trick Flow elbow on, it changed the sound of my car some...

Please understand, I know exactly what you mean and understand how wierd and confusing this **** can be.

I love my Loudmouth. Yes its loud, but thats what I love...

Without cats, a loudmouth will be raspy... No doubt.
Heck, even a ebay highflow cat would make a huge difference and eliminate alot of rasp.
I actually don't like the Loudmouth with LT's and no cats, thats just to much rasp for me.

Oh, btw ralls, did you run that time with just a CAI? Thats impressive.

slp loud mouth with a CAI sounds great, but when you add longtubes and delete the cats, its the loudest damn thing ever. it was fun for a year, but since then I have added a Bolra XR-1 muffler in place of the resonator, and it sounds great while still having that straight through design.

Yep, 2.73s, street tires..I'll admit, I had a flowmaster MUFFLER on it stock aswell. But from what I've heard, the flowmaster flows worst than stock. Even so, it is pretty quick compaired to others.
