Default true dual muffer options?

I am planning a true dual set up out the back with mufflers behind the axle. What are my options for the mufflers that fit behind the axle. Any advice and help will be great. I have searched and found some mufflers but just not sure on how to set it up. Thanks

Pretty much any muffler of any brand can be made to fit. It all depends what you want, volume, tone, cost, appearance.

Are you running X or H mid pipe and are you running CATS?

Personally I like loud in your face muscle car sounding exhausts. So I'd look at chambered mufflers. Powersticks are a good bet, Stainless Works or if you are running cats even SLP LM1 resonators.

There's no right or wrong only individual opinion.

Hey Hot Whip thanks for the reply. Do you have any pics of your set up? Or any other set up with mufflers behind the axle.

It depends what you're goals are for the system. If you want to actually muffle the exhaust you need a real full size muffler, or something similar. For a real muffler than fits in tight spots look into ATR/Pitbul mufflers. Speed Inc used to use them in their true duals systems that had the mufflers in the same place. Or look for something similar.

Otoh if you want it loud and don't mind it loud, then go with a spiral straight through muffler. If you want it REALLY loud just go with bullets, but imo duals with only bullets are obnoxiously loud.

As an alternative have you thought about a single dual-in dual-out muffler behind the axle? Check out my other thread on that, it is more refined than most true duals.

88zukon36s, Use the round MagnaFlow mufflers (The Noise Cancelling, straight Through Design) Place one on each side of the rear tub.

No pics. I haven't had time and its not totally finished. I do have a video of what it looked like, the rear is the same...but I redid from the headers to the axle because the damned shop couldn't do it right.
The passenger one is slanted to fit. Doesn't have any effect on sound FYI.

That sir is a nasty Cam.....what kind of mufflers are you running?

The worse sounding mufflers to me....are ones that make a sleek car sound like a truck....
I love the sound of the stock Dual-Dual....very refined until you punch them

Hotwhip, your exhaust must be 10 times more restrictive than mine. I don't see how you can get that close to the tailpipe without having it whip your *** as well as the camera.

They flow just fine!!!! I don't actually have an (aftermarket) cam...I just took off a vacuum hose. I had other vids, but not showing anything. The exhaust had quite a bit of velocity when I didn't have the H pipe on it. I don't know what to say, I was a bit suprized about how well the camara recorded. I just have a badass camara, hu?
