fitting a MT DR-295/65R15
is any one able to fit these with out having mini tubs?
i want to have these to drive on the street and track.... im sure i'd have to narrow the rear and trim around the wheel well... is there any thing else i'd have to hack up or use a BFH?
how much would i need to narrow? 2'' per side or more?
Thanks,
Tyler

I think the problem you will run into is the tire is so tall, that you have to lower the back of the car alot to get it to not sit at a mad angle with the nose pointed at the ground. And that, is where the clerance problems start. I doubt you could get that tire on a car without it sitting awfully funny, or without minitubbing and dropping the rear a good 2 to 3 inches. Notching the trans tunnel, tubs, all that are probably gonna be needed.

the 295 is a 30 inch tire, and it's not skinny either. It's the tire I do believe the 7 second radial cars are running yes?
Maybe you should look into the 325/50, there's alot less work to get that to work, and if final drive #'s are a concern, swap the gears if need be.
don't get me wrong there are guys on here running 30 inch radial slicks, but not too many.
Just curious, why do you want to run that big of a tire? Most people are having good luck with 28 inch slicks/radials, lots of 9 and 8 second cars on tires this size.

i've got a 12 bolt with 4.10 and they dont make a 3series spool or a 3.50 for a 4 series... if it was feesable id look into but i guess ill just live with the 28'' DR i got now and when they wear out look into the 325 with 3.73 gears...

I think you can get a spool for any 12 bolt...... I've never heard of a 12 bolt that you can't put a spool in... I'd call moser or whoever you bought it from and ask that question. You're probably right on the gear choices, i thought there was a 3.55 you can get for a 12 bolt, but maybe not ?
