Default Vortech YSi versus Paxton Novi versus ATI D1SC or F1R

Does anyone have any pics of these blowers side by side or any comparison results as to power output on hydraulic cam motors. I just want to see how the YSi stacks up against the others.

thanks!

I know that the F1-R will make more power than the YSi and NOVI 2000 RACE blower. Both the YSi and NOVI RACE will make at least 50-80rwhp over the D-1SC. I would compare the F1 or maybe F1-A against the YSi and NOVI 2000 RACE more than the D-1SC.

The NOVI 2000 RACE will make better area under the curve over the YSi. I say this because my friend ran both blowers back to back on his car. Both blowers maxed out on his setup made 890rwhp and around 840rwtq, but the NOVI had in some areas 100rwtq more under the curve. The setup was a stroked 540cid viper so both blowers will make less than that on a V8 408cid or less.

those blower all put out different cfms so of course one is going to make more power than the other. as far as size goes they'll vary greatly.

like to see more info on your friends viper

I have his YSi dyno here... I will have to ask him to send me the rest of the stuff to post the whole comparison

This is his YSi maxed out at 12psi against a Twin Turbo Viper running 16psi. You can see the turbos running out of steam on the top end

Folks have gone 8.2's with the YSi, I think folks have gone 7.9's with the F1R.

Wow, I never even knew Paxton made a LS1 kit. Or is it all custom?

They don't make a kit.

paxton and Vortech are merged fyi. The paxton units are pretty good from what I've read.

ECS makes a kit for C5 using Novi 2K.

Paxton/Vortech are the same company now.

As for result's I do not have data on LS1's but we've tested over and over on Mustangs. Procharger is always on top in comparable tests. Our 357ci Stang with a F1R has gone 7.6's. A YSI on it would only go 8.0's.

The ECS paxton kit's are doing good because they run an oversized blower with restrictor plates to build boost down low/cut off peak boost.Thats why they get the midrange. You should see what happens when you use those restrictors on Prochargers. They murder the Paxtons

I think the NOVI 2000 RACE version flows around 1700 CFM. You can get it from Paxton if you want one. I would honestly stick with Procharger since you have more choices there and higher step up ratio and max impeller speeds.

F1R is rated as 2000 cfm blower.
F1 is rated at 1525.
YSi is rated at 1600.

But I think that max YSi performance is typically between the F1R and the F1.

Novi 2000 is supposed to be a very good blower, only point of reference I have was a Mustang friend who went from Novi 2000 to YSi and said he picked up. But I think if you are looking at the F1R, YSi, and Novi 2000, you are looking at some stout blowers.

PROCHARGER is self oiling---the others you have to tap the pan...Big Difference.

At that level, it would be quite insignificant IMO.

Im very happy with my YSi.....although if they did a larger version in the same frame, that would be a direct swap........of course I would.

I'm sure there are other cars out there running times like this with my limited mods using the other head units, but I have yet to see it.
Then there is that little fact that the fastest supercharged C5 has an ECS Paxton kit on it, 9.33 @ 147 is hard to argue with. Once again, I am not putting down any head unit, just posting my results, I think any of the above mentioned head units will work great for 99.9% of the people out there.
I dont have much more of an engine then you and weigh about the same probably and do OK with a D1SC. Its even quicker then the 'fastest supercharged C5' whatever that means

Any of the head units will work fine, except the F1R will put out more since its a bigger blower. It boils down to packaging and whose brackets/intercoolers you like the best and cost of course.

since when is it a BIG DIFFERENCE on whether you have to tap the pan or not?

Anyone figure out how to put a filter on the F1 headunit?
