i had to remove the linkage. its very easy, just two bolts. one that you should be able to get from the top and one more that you will have to get from the bottom. after the bolts are removed the linkage kind of slides out.

I didnt take it out, just took the bottom bolt out and swung it out of the way.

negative on pacesetters also.. Leave it in. If you do need to take it out for some reason, its real easy like mentioned.. Just 1 bolt and it will swing away enough to put pretty much anything in

It depends on the car.
I'd say out of all the header installs I've done, it has been about 70% needed it removed, 30% didn't.

I just installed my Pacesetters a couple months ago and I had to just slip the linkage off....no big deal. Also had to grind the tab on the block a little. I was surprised I had to do either of those after reading so many posts about NOT having to do these with Pacesetters. I agree each car is slightly different. Probably could have 'persuaded' them past the linkage but I didnt want to scratch the coating off....but the tab needed to ground a little either way. I did them on a lift which made things a ton easier.

My pacesetters fell out/in. Removing the steering linkage is no problem. Remove the top and bottom bolts, then knock the bottom end off the rack, then slide the top off. I like to use some blue loctite on the bolts after I clean them up on re-assembly.

i put a set of pacesetters on and they almost installed themselves.even left the plugs in also.the qtp's were,well,what didn't i have to take off ?

with my flowtechs I was doing mounts at the time so I unbolted the mount and jacked the motor up for extra room.
