should i worry about this issue...
for a while now i have noticed every time i go to fill up with gas, when i take the gas cap off i dont hear the pressure being released.....i have already replaced the gas cap last week, but i till dont hear any thing...
is this something to worry about???

I used to have a turbo DSM and had the same issue. I know apples to oranges, but I never had any kind of A/F issues. My best guess was it was the ambeint temprature or something cuasing a little extra pressure??? Not sure on that, but like I said, no troubles with or without.

My 4th gens have NEVER made that sort of "pressure release" noise when removing the gas cap. Not even when brand new (and I've had 3 of them). Neither does my Monte, Bonneville, or Cavalier.
And here in IL they do a gas cap pressure test along with the emissions test, and mine passed just fine even without that noise.
Last car I had that did that was my '89 Formula from time to time. But that had the old school gas cap that was threaded rather than the one-turn style on all the newer GM cars.

I think the newer gas caps nowadays are vented as oposed to caps from the "muscle car era" that were not vented. Hence thats why you dont hear the sound when u take it off.
