Default STS Owners - What did you do with your IAT Sensor

On my kit, STS had me mount it on the radiator shroud.
Since this is an important sensor, I would like to put it back where it belongs, in the airflow. Has anyone found a solution to this?
Thanks in advance.

You can either run a grommet in the pipe and push it in there. Or weld in a 3/8s bung and use a grand national sensor, its the same one pro charger sends with there kits.

Thanks. Which pipe would that be? There is a pipe before the MAF, but only hoses after the MAF (except for a reducer pipe). The sensor will not currently reach the pipe, but I have no issue at extending it.

You can put the sensor anywhere, best place is going to be kinda by the power steering pulley. Are you spraying meth?

I drilled a new hole in by TB and reused the grommet its at the 11 o clock postion fits great, get good temp readings, and doesn't proturde so far that it would disrupt air flow. Ill post a pic a little later.

Put it in your intake pipe near your throttle body since your MAF is relocated so far away with the installation. Drill a hole and put a grommet or if you plan on running any kind of boost get the GM Threaded IAT sensor and grab a bung like the guy above said.

Thanks. No spray, 8 psi boost. The problem is that the STS kit puts a silicone hose where the original intake elbow was. So a metal or hard place is not available. IMO, it was a stupid design.
A pic would be appreciated, 2002-ws6.
If I could find somewhere to put a threaded unit, that would be fine. I suspect that a threaded unit on a silicone hose would just pop out, but I do not know.

The sts kit we installed just had a silicone 90deg right at the throttle body. The charge pipe coming up is ideal, if not available you can extend the IAT wires.

I put mine in a rubber elbow going to the TB first and that just kept shooting out every dyno pull. Also the rubber elbow would blow up like a baloon. I mean that sum bitch was twice its size with 7psi behind it. I've since bought a silicone elbow and had to move my IAT, heres what I decided to do

Just make sure the hole you drill isn't too big I started small and kept getting a little bigger till it would just fit. Its now in so tight I don't think 20psi would blow it out

I cant say i was impressed either by the OBX "silicone" that was supplied. Our 4 and 5ply stuff is tried and proven. We actually had one of the FMIC 2.5" to 3" elbows explode on the dyno, it shredded the dang thing. That wasn't the first piece of the kit to explode either, the lower silicone piece going to the maf blew-up also.

I am at the point of needing to install an IAT on my Blazer (2 of em actually-1 for the factory PCM and one for the Megasquirt) Does anybody know what kind of threads the GN snesor has, and where to get the proper bung holes?

Its a 3/8th pipe thread, you can get a pipe bung at a major parts/lowes/home depot store.
