Default own Macewen overlays? Yay:Nay?

First, read this thread-you'll learn about the Mac's from that point of view...and maybe give some input of your own! I ordered them, but from the
reviews and comments I believe i am in trouble!!!

I love my gauge overlays, and especially my shifter overlay since I can't find anyone else who makes them, but, I would never deal with Mac's crappy service again.
And it's not like I'm the only one. I constantly see threads where Mac says they've fixed their problems but, the customers can't get their product. It's really sad.

thats why i created this thread, to eliminate the shitty service duped on new customers, and/or try to make peace in the hopes that some people have had a POSITIVE experience with them...

They must've gone downhill since they first started which is a shame. They were pretty nice to deal with back in '01

Well i'm sure everyone knows i'm not happy with them.
Customer Service (or lack there of)
I bought a TA bezel from him off Ebay. It took me a month of calling and emailing before i got it. At the sametime i had bought the Bezel my GF bought me the overlays for Valentines day. She bought them several weeks in advance and they still hadn't shown up by Valentines day, she was very upset. I had to start calling to see if the overlays were ever gonna show up. They finally showed up a month after she had ordered them as well. When i switched to my 97+ Camaro dash i was in need of a TA bezel and Macewen was the only place i knew to get a new one. Ryan had also made a post on here apologizing for his terrible service in the past and had said things have changed. So i placed an order and i after a few weeks i had never received the part or a charge on my account. I kept calling and always got error messages and never had a response to my emails. I finally called my credit card company and told them to cancel the charges if they show up and sent an email to Ryan telling him to cancel my order. I'll never deal with them again or buy his stuff from anyone else.
My buddy on the other hand ordered his 97 Camaro overlays a few days before I ordered mine and he had his in less than a week. When it comes to getting your stuff its hit or miss. You either get it pretty quick or you have to call/email and harass him to get your stuff.

Product-The overlays line up and fit ok. I know my buddy was pissed he had spent over $100 for them and they didn't line up as well as he had wanted. They also seem to make the light that shines through kind of blurry. Without the overlays the marks and numbers lit up clearly and with them they kind of blur the light. Then you come to issue of slippage. I had seen a few people post that they're had slipped and i had never encounter it until the first summer rolled around. Then slowly but surely they would slip a little each day. It was kind of hard to tell during the day but at night it was painfully obvious because some of the areas wouldn't even light up. It got so bad i could even read from like 20mph to 50mph. Every summer for 3 summers this would happen. Finally on the last summer i just super glued them in place then shortly there after i swapped the dash and sold the cluster. When i installed the overlays i had cleaned the whole cluster with rubbing alcohol and let it dry before i installed them. Also when i'd remove the cluster to fix the overlays the overlays were always glued into place so i'd have to peel them off with a butterknife to readjust them. This tells me its was a glue issue not a dirty cluster issue. Also now that i have my Nr's I just feel i got ripped that i paid more for my Macewens then i did my Nr's. The Macewens are basically just a thick sticker that goes over your old gauge face while the Nr's are a whole new gauge face. The Nr's are better quality and i could see paying $100 for them since they're not just a decal overlay.

Well do as you wish but if you're going to buy them just don't buy from him directly. Try to go to through the WS6 store.

I have NR's, they came on the car. All the guages line up perfectly, and the Service Vehicle, Hi beams, and turn signals show through perfectly.

I have had mine for about a year now and love them. They did move on me one time when I left the car out in the 90 degree heat. I think they expanded a little and when the cooled off they went to a little different spot. I just took the bezel off and restuck them where they should be so all the numbers matched up and haven't had a problem since.
