Yo, Matt!

What did you find, exactly? The pix aren't as definitive as you might think. There appears to be something on the oil pickup screen, but whether it's snot or metal shavings is a little unclear. No, a lot unclear.

And the pix of the lower end show something red on the bottom of a connecting rod. Did you cut your finger on it?

Sorry, but you need to give us (okay, me) a little help here.

Best -- Gary

It made my day! Now im not as afraid to shift my CC306 as high as i originally planned. Im not sure what pistons, rods, and rings i have but i know they only have 42k miles on them since the first rebuild from the previous owner.

He apparently didn't have a problem spending money... I'd be interested in what else there was in the motor.

I see you said your running a high pressure oil pump. Any reason why? I run a canton 6 quart oil pan and a high volume pump and a canton pickup. That was what was suggested to me to run by most everyone.

no not unless your motor was replaced during the car's life.

One of my buddies had a 4 bolt 355 just like that.

He had to pull it because he threw a rod and then a surprise to see the splayed caps!

That would be nice to see after the work it takes to pull a motor.

Tony.
